Firefighting and Rescue Unit

Firefighting and Rescue Unit

Fire station on outskirts of Bydgoszcz meets the needs of rescue and fire safety of Brdyujście district. Nevertheless, it has been designed to have an impact in the creation of public space in this part of the city.

Building highlights the shape of the crossing of Łochowskiego and Witebska streets and is located on a site, where the only existing building is an abandoned brick shed in the eastern part of the site.

The brick shed was adapted to a museum as a site exhibition hall.

Glass cube besides the function of the building entrance area also serves as a passage zone to public sports facilities in the backyard.

Sports facilities, a museum and a lecture hall in the Unit bulding have been designed to serve the local community and to get firemen’s everyday life closer to it.
